13 Wisconsin schools recognized as ‘America’s Healthiest Schools'
*From Wisconsin Health News, September 25th

Thirteen Wisconsin schools were among the 461 nationwide recognized as “America’s Healthiest Schools” last week by a children’s health advocacy organization.

The Alliance for a Healthier Generation, which recognized the schools, works “to transform the conditions and systems that lead to healthier kids.” The organization’s goal is to reduce the prevalence of childhood obesity and help kids develop healthy habits.

All of the schools recognized meet or exceed federal nutrition standards for meals and snacks, offer breakfast daily, implement district wellness policies, update progress annually, provide students at least 60 minutes of physical education per week and ensure physical activity throughout the school day.
