SNA-WI SPRING CONFERENCE & JOINT ADVOCACY DAY WITH WAND UPDATE - CANCELLED
With so many unknowns about the developing coronavirus (COVID-19), the SNA-WI Board of Directors has made the very difficult decision to cancel the upcoming Spring Conference and Advocacy Day on March 17 & 18 in Madison.
Because of the limited testing capability for COVID-19 in Wisconsin over the past few weeks, there are still many unknowns - including how many people may be infected and whether community spread has already occurred in our state. What we do know is that students in Wisconsin are best served if our School Districts and Cafeterias are fully staffed and available to rapidly respond to any development. The health and safety of our members is paramount as well as the health and safety of the students they serve. While this was a very difficult decision to reach, we believe it is the wise one considering the facts we know - and don't know - as of today.
You will get a full refund for your registration but please allow up to 30-days to receive the refund. If you made a hotel reservation at the Madison Concourse, you will not be responsible for guestroom charges. Please call the hotel directly at 1-800-356-8293 to cancel your reservation.
While we will not be meeting or advocating as a group, we still encourage you to reach out to your Legislators in your Districts and discuss the importance of School Breakfast and School Nutrition as a whole. We've provided the leave behinds and session highlights for you to forward to your Legislators. We also encourage you as Legislators return to their Districts, to invite them out for a site visit where you can have a one on one conversation of the importance of increasing breakfast funding and show them firsthand the important work you do.
I am sorry we needed to cancel and we hope you understand.
