Position:

Director of Student Nutrition

The School District of Fort Atkinson is seeking qualified candidates for our Director of Student Nutrition position.  This position reports to the Superintendent and is responsible for directing and managing all aspects of the food service operations to meet or exceed expected standards of excellence and the strategic vision of the school district.  The district includes 6 schools, 2,700 students, and 300+ staff.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and extensive training/certifications in food service/restaurant operations. 
• Advanced degree and/or extensive experience in food service industry preferred.
• Supervisory experience in food service area including the ability to lead, coach, counsel, train, evaluate and provide ongoing support and direction to assigned staff.
• Advanced knowledge in menu design including nutritional aspects, cost, labor intensity, and student appeal.
• Experience and/or knowledge working comfortably with technology and new technology systems including food service related application software and automated serving systems.
• Exceptional communication, organization and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment and methods commonly employed in food service operations.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations pertaining to food service operations and safety and health standards and procedures.
• Willingness to pursue additional training as requested by the school district.

Superior interpersonal skills to deal effectively with students, the general public, teachers, administration and vendors.
