2009-10 Annual State Conference
Our 53rd Annual State Conference of the SNA-WI was a great success. There were approximately 280 people in attendance. The Conference opened on Monday afternoon, June 21 with our first of three keynote speakers, James Painter, PhD, RD. He is a motivational speaker and he delivered a very up lifting message. This was the perfect way for us to start our Conference. This Conference had several donations and James was sponsored by Fox River Foods. Bandanas and lanyards were donated by Reinhart, while the insulated bags were donated by Multiteria.
Following his presentation, we held our live elections and heard from all our candidates. This gave our members an opportunity to put a name with a face and make the best decision for this outstanding organization. The voting booths opened at 3:00 p.m. Members had the opportuntity to vote until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
All the breakout sessions were awesome and covered a lot of the hot topics happening now in child nutrition. The evaluations for these session were very good and everyone had a large selection to choose from.
Monday night was a free evening to tour the beautiful city of La Crosse and spend some quality time with friends.
Tuesday morning, June 22, started with a Wellness Walk around the Mississippi River. The awesome purple shirts were sponsored by Clark, Malone & Associates. They are very light material and comfortable shirts. After the walk we had iced coffee, hot coffee and snacks. What a nice treat to a fun event.
After the walk, we attended the breakout sessions for the morning until lunch and the second General Session. Our key note speaker was Gregg Catalano, , Med, LCDC, LMFT, sponsored by Land O Lakes. He focused on us “to be the best person in life we can be”
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Hospitality Party was a lot of fun. Our D.J., Erin with Musical Memories, was a hoot. He got everyone moving and really into the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s theme. Our Chapters had games and tables in the same room as the Party. This was something new this year and was very well received. I would like to sincerely thank everyone who dressed up in theme and donated items for the silent auction. Our industry partners donated money, food and baskets for this outsanding event. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You…
Wednesday, June 23, our Industry put on one of the best shows ever. We all saw many new and different products and had a great time.
The Conference concluded with the third general session. Our key note speaker was Michele Matt Weston. She was an awesome speaker on attitude. Michele was sponsored by Smuckers.
